We’re working on a fantastic photography book about Amsterdam and we’ve got square eyes from selecting and judging images. So, we need your help. On Facebook you will find a selection of Ewout Huibers’ images. Like your favorites – max 10 – and if you wish, tell us why. In return you can win one of the three copies we give away the minute the book returns from the printer in November.

Here’s a heavy weight collabo: Muhammad Ali photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the new Louis Vuitton campaign. The little boy in front is Ali’s grandson. The legend is actually looking pretty good - or Annie is a danm good photographer.

Here it is, Erwin Olaf’s highly anticipated new book ‘Own’. This book is the regular trade version, based on the limited edition that was published in November 2011 and sold out in the blink of an eye. It’s a beauty, offering a wonderful overview in Mr. Olaf’s work so far, which is diverse to say the least. To see people’s faces when they leaf from the subdued photos from Rain or Grief to the explicit series like Fashion Victims or Squares is a blast. But most of all it’s a beautifully produced homage to one of the best photographers Holland has ever seen. An instant MENDO Classic! Oh, by the way: Mr. Olaf is coming to MENDO on the 26th of May to sign his new book and you are invited!

After visiting the Dutch HQ of Vogue, Ingela Klemetz Farago was sent over to MENDO to present her book Northern Women In Chanel. You must know many people make books and many people think MENDO should sell them (we’re not being arrogant here – it’s just the way it is). So when Ingela hopped into MENDO at first we slightly sceptic – as usual. That scepticism only lasted for 5 seconds. This particular woman and her husband approached Chanel with the idea for the book. They got carte blance and created this radical book about Northern Women featured in Chanel, hence the title, and good old Karl even wrote a preface. Northern Women and Chanel are a match made in heaven, and features a personal favorite of ours, Miss Helena Christensen. The book accompanies the art project, 2112 hand-numbered copies were made and all the revenue goes to Save The Children. Props for Ingela!
